Painted primarily in metallic pigments and their effective nemesis, marble dust. The concept behind this painting derives from that of Broken and Equivocal Hints: I am becoming more deliberate in building multiple transparent grounds, using the direction of brushstrokes and craquelure to intersect the Schwitters-Klein Merz-vide with pre-modernist texture (the latter carrying with it the foundations of painterly content and meaning prior to the 20th century). In 2008 this became the explict theme of nearly all of my work.
