Sestino
A visit to Tuscany in May 2007 was inspiring and invigorating, despite my failure to succeed with plein-air landscape painting (not so for my guides and friends, the superb artists Norman and Tory Taber, to whose "graphotypy" website I encourage all readers to pay a leisurely visit). I took heart, incongruously, from the words of Canadian-French lyrical-abstract painter Jean-François Riopelle (1923 - 2002): "When I hesitate, I do not paint. When I paint, I do not hesitate."
